We have had this great Suburban as our daily driver for the last 24 years.

I have put 3 rear ends into it.
The OG guv-bomb ate itself and I was poor so in went a junkyard picked unit and its gear set.

That junkyard set got us another 2 years before it blew up, then we went fully boogie with a Detroit TrueTrac.
One day the rear wheel came loose and left the chat at about 30 mph.
That ended up bending the axle tube up just enough to put weird pressure on the axle and diff.
So I heard a familiar sound and felt the feeling of rear gears loading up.

Sure enough.
It destructed itself.
Ate the gears and spewed them all over the place.
No rebuild parts available, so it all went directly in the recycle bin.

Took it to the builder man the race car buddies suggested.
He straightened the housing and put all new stuff into the rear.
Now we have a Yukon limited slip in there and it is working just fine.

I am trying to take back the Subaru from the Lesbians. The Subaru is too good of a car to just let one group lay claim to them. Everyone with a Subaru that is non lesbian needs to do something subtle to make the car known that we are taking them back. I bought one to commute both on the highway and on logging roads. Mine is very basically built, not a mall crawler type, with a 2" lift and large tires to get me over the logging roads and into my logging equipment at the time. I don't have all the lights, racks, and do-dads the kids put on them, just what I need to rally a bit off road.

My belief is if we can get the Lesbians to switch to Hyundai or Kia the world would be better off. Please help me in this fight!

Now, as far as what I'm driving right now......a nice fresh engine in my 1968 CJ5 is in the house!!!

I got your back in the fight, although the "Eat It Raw" bumper sticker on the back might not clearly indicate ownership by a heterosexual man. 98 Foz at 250K.

I'm always curious to know what everyone drives.

I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited with an ARB Bull Bumper and a Warn M8000 winch. While I love owning it, I don't drive it enough, so it's up for sale.

Next is Jenny's car, a 2002 Hyundai Accent. One of the best decisions we've ever made was purchasing this car. Jenny has a 50 mile round trip commute and the 38MPG highway really takes some of the pain away from the pump. I know why these cars sell for $8k new, and it's not because they're bad cars. Working on them, you can see how they streamlined the assembly process to the point where everything fits together like lego's. Very smart, and good for me when I'm working on it.

(No photo, you guys know what these look like)

Third is my 1989 BMW 325i convertible. This is the fifth or sixth E30 BMW Jenny and I have owned, and they really are amazing little cars. I pulled the motor out of it to reseal all the gaskets last year and as of today, the engine is still apart. Hopefully it'll be done in time to enjoy the last bit of summer.

Fourth is this 1991 BMW 525i. I bought this from the second owner with 123,xxx miles on it. It sat for quite a while and no joke, must have had a 1/4 inch of leaves and dirt in every crevice possible. I was literally shocked once Jenny and I got it to the shop and cleaned it up, it's one of the cleanest and straightest E34's I've ever seen.
1995 JEEP YJ .

Mine had like 250k on it when I layed it into a tree which led to it becoming a 4door with a flatbed. They're great little rigs!
well to clarify the first snow Induced tree bash popped a window and crunched the roof enough it got turned into a truck. Another snow mission crunched the "bed side" which led to it cut off and a turned into 4Runner flatbed contraption….for those wondering I don't think I'm a terrible snow wheeler I just black out and never lift hahahaha

It looks like a giant Subaru Baja or Brat. I'll bet that is tons of fun to run around in the mountains.

It's no longer in the fleet. Looking for a new snow/sand machine now. but It went pretty good, final form while I had it was flat bed , 35in Maxxis Razrs with no lift at all (fenders cut firewall tubbed, cab mounts chopped and rear tubbed) welded rear and all kinds of rpm. I think it's still local to me, I sold it and it was sold again. Last owner painted it a different color and put all the china Amazon lights all over it ( I like them too).

I had 2002 WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee. I really loved that thing. It got me across the country a few times. Too bad everything but the engine block eventually failed (the transmission went at 150k, windows constantly broke, went through a few starters, etc.). I sold it for the value of the inline 6.

I currently drive a Bronco Sport with the off road and outer banks trim/package. I'll have had it for a year in March. I like it and it has gotten me to places I've wanted to go.

After the Bronco (which I likely won't keep long after finishing payments), I'll try for a 4Runner. If the US somehow allows import for that barebones Toyota Hilux-like truck I'd go for it.

Goal by 50 is to have a Porsche. Shooting for an affordable manual non-turbo 4S coupe.

Sadly... this one just returned to my possession. The second vehicle to return, in what seems just a few months. The Elders are either giving up their driving privileges, or passing on.
It is a 2003 Silverado that hasn't even hit a 90K.
This darn pickup is still in my possession...so the other day I decided to confirm that it was still operational by driving it up to CoffeeCat Mountain.

ui_cafecatmtn.jpg

Nancy at Bellas Cafe made the drive worth-the-while by serving me up some delicious manicotti, a salad and a Peroni.

I don't need a pickup truck, but I dislike the process of selling things so much that I haven't gotten rid of it.

I've had 'Big Red' (2001 F-350 with the 7.3L diesel) since new. It only has 117K on it. I sometimes think about selling it since I don't need such a beast anymore, but am not ready to commit to a new, midsize pickup.
