I got this 1972 Honda Xl250 running! It was somebody's rejected project, so not completely together. A bit of an unknown when I got it, but I'm pleased with how it's going!
We have a pile of vintage dirt bikes here.
Love the old machines and it is always fun to bring them back around.

My son has this 1981 Yamaha XT 250 that is his main dirt bike as he is fairly new to off road fun.

Which got me re-interested in bikes.
I picked up a pair of Kawasaki Kawasaki 100 G4TR's, one is fairly stock and the other has been converted to more dirt bike.
Both need work and some fresh parts.

I also have this 1981 Yamaha IT 125 that has been upgraded to the 175 engine.

Projects, projects, projects...

Lately, I had a realization while driving. It's been my practice to drive old vehicles. I've bought one new car, that was refreshing as it went 15 years without needing anything beyond regular preventive maintenance. But I'm comfortable enough driving older rigs. The image thing has never bothered me; if people think I'm poor, that may be an advantage in some ways.

But I have enough money that I could buy a new outfit if I wanted. Which I don't. But, beyond that, I'm 74 years old. It's not going to be all that long before someone takes my driver's license away. So even if I bought a new outfit, how many years might I get to use it? I know several people my age who now think about the length of utility they are apt to get out of a product before they buy it.

Yesterday, I checked to see if the Austrian Longhhood Prius was still parked where I left it over a month ago.
When I started it, a message popped up stating that it needed to be taken for a drive to charge the battery.
I took it out for a wash, and extended drive to use up some of the December 3rd, 2024 vintage gasoline.
It was a beautiful day to get out of the dungeon, grab a bite to eat, and see other people doing people stuff.

Silly looking thing, but it gets me to my destination. Well... as long as I have a destination, and the destination isn't off the pavement, doesn't have potholes, abrupt speed bumps, steep ramps, and/or standing water.

2019 Tundra, upgraded the suspension slightly and added a tonneau cover. I used to modify every vehicle I bought (lowered, lifted, offroad, I'm not picky) but I've made peace with driving a cookie cutter truck and quite frankly it's been great!

It is very similar to the Subayota Yaris I had a while back...

...similar in the way that the cupholders aren't useable.

Also had one of those pre-Mexico base model 4X4 ping pong balls that you mentioned in another thread.

All the vehicles had to be tiny to fit in the garage.

Ok, the whole "gotta fit it in my garage" is what's ruining modern trucks. Gee thanks!
