Move to a more firearm friendly state...sure I can understand that.
However...
Once you are there what are you going to do to prevent the state you moved to , from becoming the same as the state you left...?

Speaking only for myself...
I have thought of moving....but I have too much time invested in where I work to move now...maybe after I retire.
In the meantime...I keep voting pro-gun....and trying to promote a positive image of firearms and firearm owners.
Both of which is a seemingly endless and fruitless task...but nothing will change..if nothing is tried or done.

Even if you put aside the draconian gun laws of wa state, it's impossible to ignore the rest of the legislature's efforts to out commie commifornia. The requirement to teach lgbtq+ history in schools statewide, means it will likely become the ONLY history our students will be taught. Most recently, dimslee signed a law to begin elimination of natural gas appliances, furnaces and water heaters throughout the state. I suppose it will cost me 10s of thousands of $ to convert to the more expensive electricity. The list of reasons to move to a "free" state continues to grow. Gun rights is becoming only one small part of my reasons to leave this crap hole!

Your school will, starting next year, if it is a public school.
Unless your school can find a way to circumvent state law?

If you wonder how popular this "curriculum" is, the comments in the link are overwhelmingly negative. Perhaps there's hope for wa after all?

Many places now are starting to cry and moan about how many parents are pulling their kids from the public school and the loss of money. Then they keep doing everything they can to piss off even more parents.

Is your school whats called a charter school? I'm not well versed on such things, but remember reading that some charter schools act as private schools, but have "carve outs" for many of these agenda driven policies and curriculums.

IE., Oregons 2021 law requiring feminine hygiene dispensers in all K-12 school male bathrooms has what was described as an "exemption" for charter schools... even if they are operating as a public school... to determine their own policy. Despite the state mandate.

The way they were talking over some of the language it gave the impression it was a common provision with similar state mandated issues when a school was considered a "charter school". Exactly what a charter school is though, I'm unclear. :D

If so, would that mean some schools might be teaching the new curriculum and some still might not? I haven't a clue.

No we are not a charter school.

Since this is a firearm forum....and this is a firearm thread...
I will not discuss this any longer on the open forum...while the conversation is good....it it skirting the rules...and topics like the one we are taking about tend to do down hill fast.

Fair enough Andy. I certainly didn't intend to hijack DB's thread, much less KILL it, so back to firearm speak.
I think it's not the "casual" gun owner being driven out by our most recent rash of civilian disarmament legislation. There are many gun owners (I used to be one) who have a couple hunting rifles, a Mossy 500, a rimfire rifle and maybe a .357 revolver. That's all they need to do everything they think needs doing with a firearm. They can spend a day at the range and not even shoot all of them.
They're probably unaware that many of us find ourselves in a situation where we can't even sell some items to other gun enthusiasts, without going to another state.
These folks aren't moving to a "free state" because of gun laws. Some are leaving to escape the wokeism, socialism, totalitarianism and rising crime rate that has infected our state, and it's institutions.
I believe the OPs link referenced gun laws as only one reason for the exodus.

The businesses move out of the blue states because of their policies and when the jobs go the blue voters follow. The blue voters will then set to making their new home into their old one. It spreads like cancer.

Isn't that also buying into the bias that mainly liberals are the only ones that move from blue bastions to take advantage of lower real estate prices, taxes, and similar?

Just sayin... when this topic comes up it seems the discussion always leans toward liberals being the only ones that move. Liberals infect and take over every city they move to.

As if conservatives don't move for the same reasons or that conservative communities are so easily swayed to liberal/socialist/woke ideals if they are exposed to them.

I simply don't buy into the idea that they are the vast majority and it's only a matter of time before they turn the entire country into a socialist utopia.
No, I do not think it's mainly liberals making these moves. I think people of all stripes move from west coastal states to interior states. My point was, they move for different reasons, not just gun rights persecution.

I also think many of those who make the move are retirees. Many wait until they are done working, then move to avoid tax disadvantages.

IDAHO is turning BLUE!
Voter registration data would indicate that Idaho is turning redder (luckily for gun rights).
You already know that of the last 119,000 or so voters who moved to Idaho and registered here, a whopping 65% are Republican.
That's higher than the partisan makeup of the state already, which is 58% GOP.

Use to have Deer and Elk in my front yard, watch the Fox travel up and down the street, backyard was covered with Quail etc. etc. NOW it just dog droppings in the front yard from ALL the newbies who profess to be 'good' for Idaho. Oh yeah the traffic is horrible with the population increase, more crime, more drugs, more negative that has destroyed the Idaho lifestyle!

People from all over the country are piling into Idaho.
Most of them are packing bright red Rs, too. " Quoted from CDApress rag.

Or changes in federal laws that address some of the oppression that relocators are running from?

The exodus probably won't lower real estate prices in Wash. but it likely will raise them in smaller communities that are absorbing new arrivals.

Seattle, King County and Bob Ferguson won't even notice. In fact, if they are aware of this, they are probably liking it.

I've made a major relocation move already in my life, I'm to old to do it again. But best wishes to those who do it.
I wonder where Oregon will buy its beef, and where Washington will get its wheat. For all those people who have suffered under the fist of Salem and Olympia I hope that they will feel more welcome in Idaho.

For you people still in the PNW have you noticed either capital making any effort to pay attention to what their east sides have been complaining about?

no, if anything, the politicians have been complaining about the east side not following along with their ideas and "not being appreciative of the work" that the politicians have been putting in to create a State where everyone is a subject(ward) of the State not a free citizen

LOL. Typical lib logic. "We are destroying them for their own good!"

IDAHO is turning BLUE! ALL of the BS that the runners are running from is here because of THEM. All negatives cited as reasons to leave a place are now common in Idaho! NOT a cheap place to live and not as conservative as the dreamers think!
That's what happened to Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Texas, they have been infiltrated by the progressives (communists) from Kommifornia and the rabid NE NEKROMONGERS.
