You do know Radio controlled model airplanes have been around since the 1930"s right? And all these are is a model airplane/helocopter with the addition of some camera and transmitting gear. Which has been airborne in models since at least the 1960's

Point being those things are as good as the computer controlling them. We still don't have advanced enough AI to control the drones - USAF uses human pilots for the Reapers and Predators...
