Everyone should try rabbit, however obtained. Domestic rabbits are easy to raise and yield a fair amount of meat for the work that goes into it for those of you into the self reliance thing. Better than raising chickens. Wild rabbits are best when well marinated and then cooked under a little steam. There are plenty of good recipes in the older cookbooks. Rabbit was regular fare when I was growing up....squirrel too.
 
Not to hijack the thread but maybe someone here would know. How does rabbit compare to guinea pig for preparation and taste? I've heard rabbit is a lot leaner and can be a bit harder to prepare so it doesn't dry out on you.
