I'm a transplant longtime NorCal resident who simply couldn't take the local BS so I'm moving north to experience new and more frustrating (I hope not) BS. At least there is a lot less petiole oil in Oregon per square mile.

I am a woman shooter and do regularly hit what I intend. I lean toward short semis, but have a couple of cowboy guns in the locker, and a Bearcat. Long guns are where I cut my teeth as a little girl just out of my Sunday Best, but strangely after I got married I found out that Mr Wrong didn't like guns (?). So I spent some time in purgatory questioning whether or not it was right to "enjoy" guns. I truly don't miss him... And my gun locker is indeed getting fatter.

So, there's my intro. I will tell you the guns names one day if you really are interested.

Welcome! I have been on Calguns for a long time. Great site. Now you are truly in a gun freindly state. If you can head up to Albany for one of there machinegun shoots. It's a blast.

This weekend or when? I've been to that show and liked it.

As for machine gun shoots, didn't know they had one in Albany... Might be interested in that. Did it in Vegas Baby - Battlefield Vegas first in the indoor range then they invited my friend and I on a private shoot out in the desert (waaaay out there) and we shot M50s & grenade launchers. Super hungover that day though cause we went to Def Leppard the night before. Kind of like a repeat without the blinding headache.

You missed one in Jan. Next is June 7 & 8, Then Oct 4 & 5, Then Dec 13 & 14. I don't know how far you like to travel but there is a great show in Albany at the airport. It's put on by the Albany Rifle & Pistol Club. IMHO it it the best in Oregon. I think it is March 1 & 2 (please check their website to be sure) The other shows mentioned are put on by Collectors West > Home
There is one other show I like (because I work here)The Rickreall Gun Show March 8 & 9 located at the Polk County Fairgrounds, ten miles west of Salem. From Rickreall 15 miles west to Spirit Mtn Casino!

If you decide to go to Albany, you will pass by the shop that has Machine guns available to shoot. Located on the east frontage road of I-5. I've never shot there but I'm sure one of the members will add some detail for you.

Okey Dokey. looking forward to those who have shot at Albany. Info like whether or not there is a decent selection of heavy arms, if they jam every fifteenth round, do they only have let you shoot certain guns to get to certain guns, kind of like a pyramid scheme or can you pick and choose, and do they decently maintain their inventory. The stuff at Battlefield was top notch. All their people were Vets (personally I truly respect this part of their operation). They knew what they were doing, and didn't have some Tutti Fruti wandering around with a knife strapped to one thigh and some random Jane Bond weapon strapped to the other all the while taking cocktail orders. Not my kind of place to unload brass. Just saying. I mean, people go to Vegas for different things - so maybe if you want that kind of thing, run down to the 'Mob Experience' or something. But I liked Battlefield.

Back to gun shows... Albany isn't too far, but I'm really just closing escrow the second week of March so moving trucks, boxes, figuring out where light switches are in the middle of the night, that kind of stuff is probably going to take center stage. No doubt I will be looking at a later show rather than a spring show.

Anyone know anything about people who do swimming pools in the Grants Pass area? I hear everyone that does them takes forever and charges too much. Other than that, I don't know anything. Just thought I'd ask since people here may know. And I surely don't.

I believe there's a mg shoot down in that area either memorial or labor day. The Saddle Butte shoot is put on by the ARPC outside Albany(can't remember when off the top of my head but it's east to search for). They just provide a venue for people to bring their mgs and charge you to shoot them. Price varies but the ones I've shot seemed fine.
