Has anyone else noticed the bizarre new reports from North Korea this past week, regarding how the dictator Kim Jong-un is having people accused of treason executed by firing squads?

He is not having any of these people shot and killed with traditional firing squads. Instead, he is using extremely powerful guns in these executions, which often take place without any trial.

A few months ago he had his uncle executed, and now we have found out that he recently had the Minister of Defense executed for treason too.

In both of these cases, reports are saying that the firing squads used a battery of six ZPU-4 anti-aircraft guns, which each have four 14.5mm machine guns mounted together in a quad arrangement. According to reports, the victims of these executions are being totally ripped apart by these heavy machine guns.

Does anyone else find this to be bizarre? Why such extreme overkill? Is Kim Jong-un trying to send his people a message, by making these executions so extreme?? Or is the dude just plain insane and cruel, to be using this sort of firepower on his enemies?

Here is a photo of a ZPU-4. Can you imagine being shot by six of these?

The 'dear leader' is obviously a wacko of cosmic proportions. A while back he had one poor beggar 'executed' by mortar.

Next we can expect somebody to be executed by having a submarine full of Cheerios stuck up their butt - who knows?

These styles of executions are common in third world crapholes. There are many videos on liveleak.com that show people being executed this way. There have even been executions using Recoiless rifles.

It's not enough to kill a political prisoner. In today's world seeing a dead body doesn't elicit the horror and fear it may have done in times past. These "extreme" methods of execution while although may serve some sadistic gratification, are meant to horrify those who witness the event and the general polulation into utterly complete compliance. Catching a bullet is one thing, but being shredded to bits or turned into a red stain is another matter altogether for just about anyone.

As for those bottom feeding scum he's killed (uncle and minister of defense), meh. They've lived off the trough at the expense of their countrymen for years and years. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

If I had to die by firing squad I'd choose some super cool military weapon. Its a fast death, makes a good story for people to talk about, and gives the government a good idea on how the weapon works on people. I think id want to get hit by a tomahawk,

Good point to make. By being part of this monstrous dictatorship, they no doubt did deserve a bad death.

Apparently Kim does not want anyone strong to even be in a position where they could challenge him.

European monarchs used to behave like this, way back in feudal days.

This nut job dictator has nukes.
If he says push that button, do you think the generals will say no.
I think China has already made some sort of quiet "arrangement" with a couple of those generals in case it ever gets to that.

North Korea is a huge headache for them, but North Korea launching nukes at us or Japan or South Korea is an even bigger headache. The Chinese will tolerate Kim's antics up to a point, but nukes are bad for business and they want nothing more than to keep filling up our Wal Marts with their cheap plastic crap.
