I could add my own experience with a modern version of the Lightning. Since I'm headed for the bunk house now (long day) and it takes certain effort to complete the details, let me know if it's worth the effort to respond to the question.

Not really a classic gun per se....but more of what I would call a classic look
I would love to see more rifles and shotguns with solid wood stocks ( not laminate ) , a blued finish and a return of iron sights for rifles.
Oh yeah , get rid of the abominable safety device such as "crossbolts" and tang slders on lever action rifles , like those seen on newer model 94's and 336's.

A S&W revolver without the key lock safety , also have it pinned and recessed
