I think I'd use something a little softer then the diamond plate but the ideas good if you don't have kids.

Maybe use that but add some felt to it!
Biggest issue is these or things like them have been around for a bit so criminals know to look for them. Kind of like those clock and book concealment options. For the best OPsec, take the idea and yeah the instructions are good but apply them in some unique way. Makes it less likely to be compromised. I personally would prefer the heating vents concealment. Since you already have a bunch less likely to be found.
