Here's my target frame. For around twenty bucks (IIRC) I made two. With the exception of the two stubs, made from leftovers of cutting the 1 1/2" PVC into 19" sections. Fits a 23" wide target and/or cardboard perfectly. Nothing is glued together; it all gets transported disassembled. The wood is 1x2 lathe. Break the corners and they should be a tight fit into the stubs. I bought a 20 foot piece of the PVC pipe, cut it in two at my car so it would fit, and the rough cut ends became my stubs the lathe fit into.

I made a sandwich board long ago. A couple pieces of 2x4 or 2x2 and a chunk of a sheet of osb. Maybe $20
It's flat but bulky and I don't need it 2'x3' .
So I'm going to make one like carlmc shows.
Probably just st wood legs and base though

Finally got a pic of my shop made targets. Cheap, easy to make & to maintain.;)
Sorry for the upside down pics that'she how I store em...
