A decent outcome. Good to see justice served. A friend had a similar event with their father. She said in Hawaii, the adult kids want to leave but the parents want to stay. They end up getting caregivers who over time win the parent's (singular elderly parent) confidence.

In my friend's case, she believed her out of control sister and the caregiver schemed to let their father die to get the property and money. They never informed the family in LA. A neighbor contacted my friend in LA to find out about funeral services. The siblings in LA didn't know their father died.

I don't know if anyone went to jail in this case. Just that the one sister that could never keep a job, lost her kids and moved to China to teach English, ended back at the Hawaii home and never reached out to the family.
