The Asp is illegal for her. I am surprised they did not cite her for it. I hope she learned a lesson on how useless something like that is if you don't know how or are unwilling to use it.
As for this plague this is what the voters have begged for. They love to complain, yet they still elect one nut case liberal after another. Will be interesting to see how bad this gets before voters wake up.

Of voters recently polled in Seattle:
81% dissatisfied with how City Council have handled the homelessness issue.
51% are very dissatisfied.
Next year 7 of 9 seats are up for a vote...I think the pendulum will swing back fiercely.

I disagree with the pendulum swinging back, as the names may change, but the ideology will remain the same.

Yes, Seattle residents, for the first time ever, pushed back against the city council (against the head tax), but they've yet to do so on the homeless issue and I believe that they won't. Especially now that the mayor and the city council already has a solution. One that panders to their base..........

They're "doing something" to solve the problem, not to mention, it's in the liberally progressive model of free stuff and throwing other peoples money away, which will satisfy the Seattle voters long enough to get reelected, then be back to business as usual...... wash, rinse, repeat.

Seattle will never vote for a Republican or anyone not "woke" and part of the liberally progressive movement. They will only vote for the very far left socialist candidates, who will continue to push the more of the same agenda. There will never be enough social justice, minimum wage increases, hand outs, extreme leftist causes to support, because there will always be too many greedy rich people, evil capitalists and corporate bullying for Seattleites taste. Their appetite for the extreme leftist causes/agenda will never be satiated, thus this will continue as long as there is a Seattle. All you need to do is look to Detroit for Seattle's future.

Genuinely curious, is that a Seattle city ordinance or WA state law?

The closest thing I know of is RCW 9.41.270 which does not appear to prohibit the use or carry of a baton for legal self defense? Of course, it is also somewhat vague as usual:
Weapons apparently capable of producing bodily harm—Unlawful carrying or handling—Penalty—Exceptions.
(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to carry, exhibit, display, or draw any firearm, dagger, sword, knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument, club, or any other weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm, in a manner, under circumstances, and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons.
[...]
(3) Subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to or affect the following:
(c) Any person acting for the purpose of protecting himself or herself against the use of presently threatened unlawful force by another, or for the purpose of protecting another against the use of such unlawful force by a third person

Don't know, have always been told by LEO's here that things like an Asp, or a Sap are illegal to carry unless you are working in Law Enforcement or Security. Now I don't know if they enforce this or not. I have since the Asp was invented owned a couple of them. Always figured if I have to use it I would deal with them then. Seattle is one of the worst of the "we don't want the public armed" cities so I am shocked they did not cite her for it. Maybe you can walk down the street there with one but I would be shocked if they did allow them. If it was up to the people who run Seattle they would do away with CC. The city has been in a race to the bottom with SanFran for decades now :)

I have pretty much given up on Seattle coming back too. I look at places like SanFran and figure Seattle will change about the same time they change. It would have to get far worse before that would happen is my guess. Based on many decades of living here on and off. It may get bad enough but I suspect it will have to really get to sewer level to wake enough of them up. Wife and I used to enjoy occasional outings to downtown. Have not done it in quite a while now. Place just makes me leery enough that it's hard to enjoy going down to the market and such any more. I find myself so on guard that it's hard to relax and enjoy it.

I don't know why you'd be uneasy, Mayor Jenny Durka Durka said SeattleFrancisco is safe.

Oh, wait, she meant safe, from doing hard time, for the homeless, street people, junkies, tweekers, thieves, rapists, etc......................

Seattle has tasted Leftism and the taste was foul, I think the best we can ever hope for is Center Left. But you're right I don't see it being Center Right in my lifetime.

It's not hard to figure out why the Peoples' Soviet of Seattle has a problem with obstreperous derelicts. It's like stray cats - if you feed them you will have more and more of them. Offering reeking guttersnipes a better living than the productive with no concomitant responsibilities is a guarantee that you will have more subhuman detritus afflicting us.
If it were made sufficiently uncomfortable for the hordes of vagrants they might decide to take up residence elsewhere. I go to Virginia Mason for medical care, which means getting off of I5 at Cherry St. - right through the menagerie of parasites. When visiting the Emerald Dumping Grounds I always carry 2 pistols and pay attention to my surroundings. All this makes my wonder how bad it would have to get before the denizens of Soyland finally get sick of the situation to the point of actually doing something about it.

1) My Beloved Wife is indeed a smart lady. We will have been together for 50 years on 12/31/18 and married for 50 years on 12/23/19. Her love and companionship grace my life.
2) I do not hate bums. That said, I will not allow anybody to harm me. If I respond to assault with my cane or a pistol it's not a matter of hating the clown who attacks me; it's matter of self preservation. Those who think they can attack others with impunity need to take a remedial course in Victim Selection before choosing me as their victim.
