agreed, tik tok, joe? tik tok scotus? uh, we need some constitutional help here. and the last guy that took joes advice to blast off the balcony got arrested in vancouver, wa.It's Antifa, and it's Oregon, so no harm, no foul. Blaming this violence on gun owners makes sense, seeing the Oregon legislature is voting this week to take away Civil Rights from conservatives, outlined in the Bill of Rights...
Called out conservatives as they seem to be the ones being targeted, not Antifa or BLM... I'll just leave it at that...
I am replying to your post, but this question is for the room at large: when did the PNW stop being the wild, Libertarian-ish frontier? Talking to my friends and neighbors here, it seems like the answer is 'the 90s.' Can any real natives or longtime residents shed some light on when (and how!) this happened? I am from back East myself, but I was drawn to this part of the country for its natural beauty and the sense that it wasn't totally lost down the black hole of Leftism. Guess I showed up late to the party! It's Antifa, and it's Oregon, so no harm, no foul. I love this part of the country and I am proud to raise my kids here, but more and more often I am looking east of the Cascades whenever people bring up 'the future.'
Oh, man. Stuff like this reminds me of why economics is known as 'the dismal science.' Still, thanks for posting this stuff. I have lived all over the place, but I am new to this area and still trying to wrap my brain around it all. This article from 1983 that I just dug up spells out quite a bit of the beginnings of the end...

That makes sense to me. I am starting to think seriously about retirement myself, although it's still a ways off. Where would you go? I am thinking E. Washington, maybe Idaho. MT is beautiful, but the taxes ... are not!I was born in Oregon, and except for my time in the Army, I've lived here my entire life.
If I'm lucky and the government doesn't steal all the private pension funds out there I can retire in 8 more years, and I'll be taking my household and any income taxes on my pension out of this state after that!
easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. This guy is a friend of mine and was not part of any protest. They weren't enough of a threat to shoot, wasn't enough to draw.
Shouldn't have got out or just stayed away and not taunted.
Piles of excrement like them should be handled in a different way, not when they are swarming like locusts.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the ones pulling the strings are trying to provoke.Someone's gonna start shooting at some point. Justified or no, there will be more Kyles if the water keeps boiling
I would like to know what Salem police knew at the time. They didn't seem to know about the gun in the bed of the truck. With the actions happening in real time at that location, why assume the old man was the problem. Unless the police were witnessing the actions, but not involving themselves like in Portland.I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the ones pulling the strings are trying to provoke.
