I have a .40 S&W M&P that I daily carry in a IWB; normally just off center in the small of my back.

I've been noticing that the bottom plate of the magazines (made of plastic) are starting to deform a little bit. The result is that there's a growing gap even when the magazine is fully inserted.

Is there a replacement magazine for this weapon that won't have this issue or a gunsmithing "fix"

Thanks for any help.

Call up S&W for a few replacement base plates. They sent me a pair of the extended ones for free a while back. My 9c has a small gap, but I have yet to notice it change. There have been reports of very loose mags, but no functionality problems. Check with the guys over at mp-pistol.com
