Anyone have any experience with the S&W 9mm revolvers? Recently picked up a PC 986 on a whim.
have not got a chance to shoot it yet hopefully soon. Need to get a moon clip tool as well.

Proud owner of a 986 5in. Very happy with it. The front sight makes me grumble. Should be a fiber optic in my opinion. Other than that no complaints.

Look above the bore and if you see a small hole in the front of the sight base it's an interchangeable front sight. On this system, commonly referred to as the Interchangeable or DX front sight, the sight blade is held in place by a spring and pin system. The base of these sights has a large dovetail shape and you can see examples of this base on the S&W web site in the web store/sights. How it works is there is a spring at the rear of the sight that drives it into a front cross pin that engages the front dovetail on the base. To remove these sights you just push them to the rear and lift the front first out of it's nest. Once the front is clear of the sight base you simply lift it out. Installation is basically the reverse, you tuck the rear into the nest, push it back against the spring, push the front down and let it spring forward. With a bit of practice you can change out the front sight in about 10-15 seconds and no tools are required. The fiber optic
sights are available at Amazon, Midway, Brownells...........

When CC started to catch on more a couple manufacturers were making small wheel guns in 9mm. At least cataloged them. Never used to see them. Back before the perfection of the small light autos I always had at least one 5 shooter in .38. Always wanted one in 9mm. Always seemed like a great way to go for this. They just never seemed to really catch on for some reason.
