Thanks for the extra info Tim, sobering experience for sure and reaffirms the necessity to follow certain steps, every time.

i don't/haven't yet loaded any magnum rounds, but I would think that a double charge would surely show in a .357 magnum cartridge.
 
Wow that's sobering. I have been reloading for almost forty years and have never had anything like that happen but it is a great reminder not to get complacent.
 
Had this come into the shop I worked at.
Owner claimed factory ammunition.
Colt said faulty ammo, Winchester claimed faulty firearm.
