Funny, I want the same thing in 44 mag, but a barrel in excellent condition would do the trick for me.

I have a 5.5" Redhawk in 44 mag and I love it. I am not sure why Ruger is only offering shorter barrels in the new production 45's. To me a 5.5" in the Redhawk frame is the perfect size to carry in the field without neutering the performance too much. Well actually if I found a 7.5" model I would probably bob it down to 6" and have the absolute perfect woods sidearm for my purposes.
