Did a couple of these recently. Figured I'd share. Nothing new or crazy. Started with a pretty standard looking Ruger MkIII 22/45 with the bull barrel. Field stripped and then cut the barrel back to where there was still enough space to re-mount the front sight. 11deg crown was added, and 1/2-28 threads were single point turned at the muzzle.

New hole for the front sight was laid out, drilled and tapped on the Bridgeport.

Nice and handy little pistol. Supposedly, at this barrel length, most cheap ammo will be subsonic. This obviously works to your advantage when using a suppressor.

Hope you guys have a good weekend.

Nice work, looks great! I have two MKIV's that are close to that length, I haven't had any ammo go supersonic out of them yet. Normal HV ammo is only slightly noisier to my ears than standard velocity through either of my 22lr cans.

Thank you! They certainly look like fun guns.

That looks great. Love my 22/45. What's the cost to have that done?

Just had that work done. Looks great, fast service, excellent communication.
$235 including return shipping, repositioning front sight and thread protecter.
Well worth it!

I had been wanting a threaded barrel for my 22/45 so I was shopping around for a replacement barrel that had threads at the muzzle. Everything I found was 3-400 dollars and had gaudy colors and had to go through an FFL transfer (why did Ruger put the serial number there?!).
Custom work for half the price of new. No-brainer!
