Neither article says that Byrne got out of his vehicle.

That is because the one on Fox has now been changed to match the second one someone posted. The first "story" they (Fox) put out claimed the driver of the truck got out at a light and started to walk over to the car with the girl and kid, supposedly to apologize. That at that time the passenger of the car jumped out and shot him, then he fired back. As you can see now Fox has changed the whole set up with as far as I can see no mention of how different it is now. Just goes to show the problem with being able to believe anything put out as news. When I first read the original article all I could think was how stupid it was for the driver of the truck to get out and try to approach the car to say how sorry he was. Now both articles are making it sound like the passenger was all amped up and jumped out of his car with a gun in hand, with girlfriend trying to hold him back. So at this point who in the hell knows what really happened.

Dash cams are well worth the investment. If a picture is worth a thousand words, dash cam video is priceless...

YES, YES, YES! The one thing this story does show is there are some people running around with guns who should not have one. Dash cam will show what really happened. Not to mention as all can see from this the so called news is going to say who the hell knows what after it's over. If it's all on video it will make it much harder to make stuff up.

If the first guy got out, it was a fatal mistake but I wouldn't say "well he shouldn't of done that so it's ok he died.". If the first guy didn't get out, that's a really tragic event.

Drawing from a seated position inside the truck, maybe after being hit, means it is likely he trained/practiced for that situation.

Would be interesting to know if Byrne had training and baby daddy was a cowboy trying to show his baby momma how big of a man he was.

This cracker culture is ridiculous.

And before anyone gets all up in a bunch about the term "cracker culture", read the book Black Rednecks and White Liberals by Thomas Sowell. He lays out the basis of the culture of defending honor with violence.

"Now both articles are making it sound like the passenger was all amped up and jumped out of his car with a gun in hand, with girlfriend trying to hold him back."

"Amped up" sounds like a pretty good description of the passenger's behavior. His actions are completely in line with what would be expected from a meth head. Sudden outbursts of irrational anger and violence are a common result of meth, particularly after protracted use.

Yep, but again this is "if true". Since the media made such a mess out of this from the start who the hell knows what really happened here. At this point unless someone had it on video there is no way to tell. News claimed the guy who they claimed jumped out gun in hand, had a permit. Who the hell knows if this is even true now.

Geesh guys, I read it once and it clearly states Byrne was shot while sitting in his utility truck!! Did you all attend Mollaler high school or sumthin?:p
Information in one of the articles changed after the OP:

I always regard anything I see in the Lamestream Media and having little or no relation to what actually happened. ;)
All you can reliably deduce from the news article(s) is that 2 people were shot in a road rage incident. :p
That is subject to change as more facts are hidden.

Seen two road rage incidents in the past five years. I always assume they're armed: if they get out I look for a weapon. You absolutely cannot screw around these days or you'll die. We had a series of local shootings in the past twenty years where punks killed unarmed folks who were trying to confront them, and instead of fighting they were too cowardly to use their fists and used their gun. Times have changed, and you really can't predict whether or not the person who is acting like a fool is a lunatic, criminal, or just having a bad moment. You really have to wait for means and intent: but always have your handgun ready to deploy and when you know the threat is coming, do not hesitate. I live in a retreat state, with constitutional carry: and sadly you are seldom in a position to retreat especially when the threat has a gun, so you have to decide if you want to be judged by 12 or carried by six?

RoadRage, doesn't pay. At the least a ticket or arrest. At the most a pine box.
I had a Sophisticated Female, no doubt from a upscale Trailer Park, due to here white beater shirt,
and educated use of the four letter words, sitting besides here professional Meth specialist, blew a red
solid red as in red for over 10 seconds enough time for me to go from green all the way across intersection.
She doesn't brakes but punches it sliding around the front of my car. And the proceeded to give me verbal and
sign language with the international sign for peace the middle finger explaining how wrong they were.:D

Its times like that, when in your head you can pictures water torture options as they dance in your head.
But for me I back off and know its just a matter of time before they get a ticket or arrested.
You can't let others take up real estate in your head.
