I woke up way early this morning (after only 3 hours sleep) and decided to put the 4 hours until we met friends for breakfast at 9am to good use. I had received the Excalibur grips yesterday that I had ordered for my new Colt Anaconda so I decided to refinish and reshape them to make them more like a prefer them.
I think the Excalibur grips are very nice but they always seem a bit long, a bit to square at the bottom, and a bit too glossy for my tastes. They also tend to cover up the logo on Colt revolvers.
I started by notching out the top so the logo was visible and then rounded off the bottoms of the grip. I then removed the gloss finish and softened the finger grove before replacing the gloss finish with a nice satin sheen finish.
I think they look pretty nice now.
