Is the site going to be down for a while when the 'migration' takes place? Just curious if I'll have to go through withdrawals during that time. The sites been pretty slow for me lately but my internet connection has been less than reliable as of late. Wonderful rural internet service.

Yep, unfortunately it takes time for the DNS to propagate throughout the internet.
