Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Curious if anyone has an opinion one way or the other on the RCBS powder check die or Hornady powder cop die. They are the same in concept and essentially the same in price. I have historically bought the RCBS due to the replacement policies.
Both of these dies are very fundamental. Not a lot to go wrong with them so the choice is yours.
The important part is to PAY ATTENTION to them when loading. All too often these passive devices are overlooked or ignored and over/under/missing charges are not caught.
I prefer the "active" powder check system used on the Dillon Press that sounds an alarm when an over/under/missing charge occurs. There is a lot going on with a progressive press being operated at "production speed" so the "alarm" is certainly a good feature.
