Radar Detectors

I am in the market for a Radar Detector for in my car, I commute over 100 miles a day, traffic is usually flowing at 20 over, which is nice, but sometimes a Trooper or Sheriff likes to screw it up.

I think I have decided on a Valentine 1 Gen2, but also looking as Escort.

Anyone have one or the other? Pros and cons?

I haven't looked at radar detectors in decades, but back then the Valentine and Escort appeared to me to be the best.

I remember a very long time ago I bought a radar detector kit from Radio Shack. I assembled it and drove around in my car to test it out. The only time it sounded off was when I drove under power transformers mounted up on the power line poles.

I guess that thing saved my life, because I never did get hit by a falling transformer.
