Take your green card to the Sheriff's office and apply. It's that easy.

cause im picking up a XD-40 tomorrow and thought about carrying that for a while. Might get something smaller if I feel its too big but we'll see

If your Sheriff isn't gun friendly it may take a while but I think they have to have a valid reason to deny (aka Shall Issue)

CPL (Concealed Pistol License), covers only a concealed pistol, nothing else.
