<broken link removed> ?

I saw this over on the Brady Campaign facebook page while trying to lay a few droplets of knowledge. The OP was fishing for "caring" people, but mostly got back-talk as it distracts from their real objective of removing all guns from civilians.

On the surface it sounds reasonable, and if they are going to pass feel-good "we have to do something" laws that are going to cost money, then at least it will actually do something.
Maybe include a "risk assessment" to go along with the program. Or something like the public education for seat-belts. Only it would be a reminder about the cardinal rules for gun ownership.
And it might show the public that the gun-control haters, like Burdick/Grenlick are full of Oregon slug excrement about their descriptions of gun-owners.

Besides, Obama likes to give stuff away ;)

It would be more effective at keeping guns away from people who shouldn't have them than other proposals. The haters are more interested in getting guns out of everyone's hands.
