Anti gun lawmakers are a reflection of what is happening in the populace they represent. They bear the brunt of public pressure, as well as try to please their constitients so they can get re-elected. Oregon legislature's gun control efforts are a direct result of the general mood in their largest populace, Willamette Valley, which is largely dominated by current social theories and practices, as taught in public schools, universities and colleges. IMO The attack on free speech is relevant to this discussion as it points to where the anti-gun problem is sourced and where it also must be fought.

Hmm. A reflection of what is going on. Yes, we see many examples of mobs of people protesting gun ownership but an extremely small number of individuals who can explain the bare basics of firearms.

That shows a true lack of passion but more of a case of an empty vessel wanting to be filled. A SJW looking for a cause. An atheist may be against religion but at least they can quote the bible. When you are truly passionate about something there is evidence.

The "political will" to follow through with gun legislation is driven by mass shootings unfortunately. Look at England. Every gun control law followed a high profile shooting and now no one can carry anything in England. If we could somehow stop/end mass shootings there would be no more reason to worry about gun legislation actually getting passed.

The good guys with guns need to be on the lookout for the bad guys with guns and stop them. The public scoffs whenever we say that, because they don't know a box of ammo from a buttwipe. But those of us who know better, and have the experience, we need to remain vigilant.

However, as others have already suggested here, it's ultimately not about safety, it is about control. If they disarm us, they can install sweeping EU-style policy "reforms" 100% unopposed.

Piggybacking on this the same group that says the current government is full of nazi loving old white men is also the group that says, relinquish any way of protection against these same nazi lovers. How does that make sense? Both beliefs can't coexist.

If you really believe they are nazi and an intolerant government, why would you give up your guns? Knowing actual nazi history and tactics, why would you even risk it? Brown people, women and LGBT groups should be leading the way FOR gun rights.

As long as this Governor remains in power, and the Demorats are super majority, nothing in Oregon is safe. They are the party of hate, and until they are knocked down to minority party, they will always be a threat to life, liberty, and the pursuit of freedom. They know nothing except greed and self gratification, and have done nothing but support the teacher's union who lined up and were the beginning of the failure of the PERS, that still is not fixed. Like Obama Care, it was never made to succeed. Now a pause from gun control for more money to sink into schools that are failing and an example that pouring more money into it, doesn't fix it. Others like SEIU will also line up for more of that free money...maybe even the teamsters! Don't you ever wonder where in the hell all the last money that was to fix this went? Me too! We need law control, not gun control!

And to think all the millions and millions the state takes out of the lottery to fund the schools and other feel goods, and yet with all those Billions spent, we cant pave the roads, fix the schools, and pay the teachers a decent living wage! And don't even get me started on all the democratic sponsored pork belly projects "We just gotta have" like million dollar pieces of are scattered all around, especially on state buildings, and super expensive landscaping! Then there is the "Art Tax" the extra school taxes, and property taxes we pay to fund the schools, ( all going up) so what the hell are they actually spending all those billions on?

Reminds me of when the decided that Joe Conforte owner of a successful brothel in Northern Nevada they thought he wasn't paying enough taxes. The people thought he was very generous even above the amount of taxes that were payed in. It appeared IRS were going to jail Joe, so he went on the run to South America. The Government ran it for at least three years and couldn't make a profit and operated in the red for the whole time they took over ownership and and never could make a profit. It seems if it comes to money, they never get it right and screw it up. They ended up bull dozing the buildings. Joe's wife died of cancer, and poor Joe was never hear from again.
