Reminds me of when the decided that Joe Conforte owner of a successful brothel in Northern Nevada they thought he wasn't paying enough taxes. The people thought he was very generous even above the amount of taxes that were payed in. It appeared IRS were going to jail Joe, so he went on the run to South America. The Government ran it for at least three years and couldn't make a profit and operated in the red for the whole time they took over ownership and and never could make a profit. It seems if it comes to money, they never get it right and screw it up. They ended up bull dozing the buildings. Joe's wife died of cancer, and poor Joe was never hear from again.
The reason the Gov, never made a profit was all the Managers and Gov employees they had to have to run the show!
General manager, front of the house, back of the house, assistant managers, quality control managers STD inspectors, Health inspectors, property managers, grounds keepers, maids, bed makers, lingerie shoppers, kitchen staff, bar staff, front door security, on sight security, and and med staff for the girls, not to mention Union Reps, Prostitutes union reps and more! No wonder they couldn't make a profit, where a husband and wife were able to successfully operate in the black, the gov steps in and overmanages it to death! Sort of how OryGun does things, especially with Gov'ness Kate at the helm!

Kalifornagon, yup that's where we're living...
Everyone is having Demorat problems, Born in Milwaukee, Wis to Minnesota. Marines out west and never returned. Earn a living in your state to retire in Oregon. You can hide from them! Just got to dig it and fight them. I'm very close to your border and at times there isn't much of a comfort zone. However, no safe haven and time to take back our government. Never was that party so out of step and wandered into their one world order and socialist Demorats...what the hell?

I believe the line up on a state level, but the Joe's place was taken over by the Feds. Although Nevada state can be pretty slippery. A dead candidate ran for some state office in Nye County Nevada. Too close to take him off of the ballot. He happened to win...now there's a bit of a deli ma. At one time dead men told no tales...especially if you couldn't find them.

There has to be something really out of wack with her thinking Process. She reminds me of McCarthy from back east who I think her son was shot killed. Every gun owner innocent or not has a price to pay here for what a criminal committed years ago. Not a clue what Ginny's brain is clicking on, but she seems to think that criminals will not use guns in public buildings. With this kind of mentality, what in the hell is she doing in office and allowed to draft laws for sane people to follow? I'm sure no unbalanced person would ever carry a firearm in a place that is forbidden. Oh yeah by the way Ginny, if it's going to be against the law, who is going to stop that crazy who flat doesn't want to comply? Almost hate to ask but maybe related to Pelosi or is it just a party trend?

Dont know the answers here, and really dont care. What I do care about is her insistence that I cannot do what is needed to protect my self, and that is unacceptable to me! I will carry at all times, and unless they wand, or otherwise violate my rights to privacy, i will continue to carry in all places I will be visiting regardless of any law she endeavors to pass!

Civil disobedience sir, it'll render the law useless... Its what the founding fathers intended by not obeying an unjust law...

As far as I'm concerned any gun control law is an "unjust law" and should be ignored by the law abiding...

Thinking that most have reach the point where stupid is way too much, and any further would just cement to ignore any further push against any unlawful attempt of furthering any confusion. Enforcement of a unlawful law, I understand is not a law at all. Any that goes against the Constitution that is Supreme, can not be law! It is also against natural law, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Interdependence. That can not be changed by court action.

Oregon passes bill to keep guns from stalkers and abusers

The bill senators passed 25-3 on Thursday is aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of domestic abusers and stalkers.

Gov. Kate Brown told reporters earlier Thursday she looks forward to signing what she called "the domestic violence bill" that earlier passed the House.

"We have been able to make incremental progress as I have been governor, and we will continue to do so in a strategic and thoughtful manner," Brown said.

Still another 5 weeks left until the end of Oregon's 2019 legislative session.

Here's another heads-up from OFF, a newsletter from Rep. Barbara Smith Warner (excerpts below, red highlights and eye rolls are mine ;)).

She's looking for stories to support HB 2505 "Safe Storage for Firearms". Maybe some of you want to write her with your own thoughts?

Senate Democrats and Governor Brown agreed to no longer consider SB 978, the omnibus gun violence prevention bill ... critical public health and safety measures  that I support wholeheartedly, and I will not give up on these issues.

Last Friday was a scary day in our district. A student with a gun approached Parkrose High School with a gun, and was tackled by coach and former college football player.

School shootings have become terrifyingly commonplace , so much so that we almost shouldn't be surprised when it finally happens in our community. Still, it was shocking. As soon as I heard about the event I was glued to the news, trying to understand what was happening in my district. I am endlessly thankful to the coach, teachers, security officers and police who helped keep this day from being more tragic, but we can't accept this as normal. I've talked with parents, students, administrators and activists, and we are all fired up.

Our students should feel safe in their schools, and it's our moral obligation to make that a reality. Safe storage requirements, like HB 2505, can make a real difference. There's no time to lose, we can't keep putting this off. For Parkrose and for every Oregonian, the time is NOW.

MY BILLS & PRIORITIES

Safe Storage for Firearms – HB 2505

After the scare at Parkrose last week, I became even more determined to make progress on Safe Storage requirements as soon as possible. Safely securing guns when they aren't in use is something that responsible gun owners already do, and its a public health approach that would have a lifesaving impact right here in Oregon. If you are passionate about this issue, I would love to connect and hear your story. Please send me an email, or call my office.

Quote from above! So, why make it mandatory if you believe it is already common? stupid ninny, fixing a problem she already knows isn't a problem, but, "its fer da kids" so we can feel better about doing something instead of doing what needs to be done, FIX MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES!
Stupid knows no bounds, and it seems especially prevalent in Oregon Politics today!

I think either one of two things is going on. Either they want to challenge DC vs Heller and are delusional enough to think SCOTUS will side with then. Or they know it will not pass the scrutiny of the courts but want to use this as political fuel.

If it goes to the courts and fails they can say they attempted to do something and it was the evil unjust courts that won't let common sense prevail. It also gives them fuel for court packing which FDR tried a long time ago but decided against when Congress opposed it and he was able to fill in a bunch of the positions which is what he wanted anyway.

It was opposed because it would skew court decisions to fit the president's agenda. Also some very bad SCOTUS decisions were made even with the new judges he did get appointed. It drastically altered states rights forever and gave much more power to the federal government.(which was what FDR wanted).

I find it interesting that we fought fascist government's overseas which thrived off centralization of power and then followed their example here at home.... Despite outspoken refugees of those countries pushing for liberty and decentralization over socialism.

Which just goes to show perception of events can turn a man blind to gold, and retard their ability to judge history correctly if those events are carefully groomed and spoon fed to them.
