One-piece vs two-piece scope base

Greetings all!

I'm interested in putting a scope on my Marlin 925 M (.22 Magnum), to help make it an accurate 100 yard gun instead of a 25 yard gun with iron sights. I've done a little looking online and it seems there are both one- and two-piece scope bases that would fit its drilled and tapped receiver. Is there any good reason to choose one over the other or is it just a matter of aesthetic preference?

I did a very quick search through Google images for that rifle, to illustrate my point below.. But it looks like almost all are using the grooves for the rings to mount to, or two piece bases.

In general, I like two piece bases on rifles with top access to the action. One piece bases get in the way.

But if you are a scope switcher, a one piece Picatinny base makes a lot of sense, offering different mounting positions.

While being no optics mounting expert, I will say that I like one piece bases for their simplicity in alignment but they can limit where your scope gets mounted for eye relief, ejection port access, etc. due to their inability to move forward/backward as necessary to accommodate these things.

If it's going to be a dedicated scope to a single rifle then two piece is fine. If the scope is going to have multiple hosts I would go with a quality one piece mount. Simply due to the ease of removal and reattachment.

I ended up just getting Leupold rimfire rings that mount directly on the integrated 3/8" dovetail receiver rail. (https://www.leupold.com/rifleman-rimfire-3-8-in-matte)

They seemed to mount easily and sturdily... Haven't had a chance to go shoot with it on yet. The bolt handle just barely clears the rear of the scope, possibly a "High" instead of "Medium" height ring would allow for better clearance, but the comparable Warne ones at my local store were $40 instead of $20.
