Just replaced pads and rotors on the rear axle of wifes car + $20 for a box of latex gloves.

$197 after tax, seems pretty reasonable compared to most everything else.

Did my sons car quite a few years back was right at $100

I didn't bother replacing rotors on the rear of our '95 CRV. Front rotors, yes.

Lock the country down and nobody can buy anything...again.
Uhhhh.....

Did you forget about all of the stimulus money? Country won't get locked down unless they give out stimulus money to keep consumerism alive, and make the rich even richer.

That's gonna pull from the Ukraine budget...

Many Americans are already hunkered down.
Noticed another food item went up nearly 70% since the plandemic.

We are being lied to on the daily.

I am calling BS on the idea that 60% plus of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. I don't get the impression that many members here are living paycheck to paycheck. Maybe this site attracts the wealthier among the populace.

Even when I had $5000+ in cc debt, I wasn't living paycheck to paycheck. If I used credit or my checking account was low it was because I spent a bunch of my income on discretionary items.

Exactly. The lines at fast food restaurants & coffee joints, overloaded carts at costco, full parking lots at home depot, etc, tells me that a lot of people are not living paycheck to paycheck.
Credit debt and loans on home equity.

Stats can be made to say anything someone wants them to say. I would not be surprised at all though to find that a VERY large percentage are living with so much debt that missing a couple pay checks would be a problem. LOT of people are in a home with shocking payments. Then they often have 2 vehicles which are also financed. Then add in some plastic. Things for fine making the payments on all for now. If for some reason pay checks stopped? For a LOT of people it probably would only take a few months till they suddenly were behind on many loans. Few probably would actually not be able to eat right off the bat but, lot of them would be soon in deep trouble with the things they are paying on monthly.
