The 1896 Mauser was good enough for Sir Winston and so good enough for me. Tom
The thread is in the semi-automatic pistols section for a reason. :p
My 1896, Italian Navy issue Mauser is a semi-auto pistol that shoots a bottle neck cartridge. Strictly speaking it is a Mauser Mod.1899 Regia Marina but I didn't think many would recognize that designation. Tom

Very neat! If you should get a chance to post a picture, that would be of great interest :)

The topic of the thread is primarily focused on pistol and machine-pistol rounds, while the venerable .32-20 WCF is most often found in revolvers and lever-action rifles.

Here's where subsequent interpretation enforces expectations.

Without personal challenge, I offer only the categories allowed by pre-stated rules. (I saw no sensible contribution prohibited.)

The ..32-20 presents a serious question which cannot be ignored based on tardy qualifications previously unstated.

Previously unstated?
  • Literally the first post says "bottlenecked automatic". (Emphasis added.)
  • It is in the "Semi-automatic pistols" section.
:p
