Pointless "after-the-fact" charges that just push political agendas. This does nothing to stop crime.

Without a law being necessary: Id only implore those with very young children to lock up their firearms.. you can teach kids all you want.. kids are still little suicide machines (for lack of a better term) and they do stupid things, their un-learned friends that come over also do stupid things.

But a law compounding charges?
What good does further punishing a parent that lost a child accomplish? On top of that..
their lock up law paired with public buildings now being able to ban CC.. if someone sees me walk to my vehicle, place my firearm in a container in my vehicle.. do they honestly not grasp the fact that simple tools used in smash and grabs can pry a sheet steel lock box out of a vehicle? Even picking locks is easy… So pair that with the massive drug use problem and homeless problem.. and you have a perfect sh*t storm of things that not just "might" happen, but will happen. Vehicle theft will be every bit as relevant here as it is in San Fran-Chit Hole.

Every year when this topic comes up I dig into the background behind the stats and I have consistently found that half of the child deaths or injury from firearms in the home happen where the parents are prohibited possessors, usually low level drug dealers. I don't think that felons with firearms are going to follow the new lock them up laws.

I'll be gone by the end of October. Moving to Tennessee.

Constitutional Carry. No paperwork or permission needed to buy/sell guns between private parties. Easier land use planning laws. The list goes on.

The libs in Oregon are prescribing death by a thousand cuts. I don't know how anyone can tolerate it.

I'll miss Oregon but I'll love my new freedom.

As with most things now a days the label is crammed with a half a book of stuff I could care less about and can read from three feet away, but I had to go in the house to get a magnifying glass to read the instructions on how to use the product and what to clean up with!!!

Here's what to know about the new law:

Another part of the law enacts a new carry ban in the Oregon State Capitol and at Portland International Airport to now include banning concealed carry even with an OR CHL. Public school districts, community colleges and universities are also now allowed to set their own policy banning firearms too.

Violation (conviction) of this part of the new law is a Class A misdemeanor.

Be careful going to those Ducks/Beavers/Vikings games or picking your kids up from school.

Well, I can tell you that TX has just about had enough West Coastians!!! (there is a popular gun forum there that tells me so)

My former Uber Socialist/Lib (anti-gunner) photography professor sis-in-law (married to my Bernie Bro older brother) recently moved from Santa Ynez CA to TX to join her liberal (anti-gun) gene tech son. Prob joined the mob in Austin. But Houston and San Antonio are bad. Maybe Dallas/FW too. The locals elsewhere accept those that want to fit in, but don't mention you are from the Left Coast!!! I knew a family friend growing up his brother was killed while his dad was in the bar getting drunk with a loaded rifle and 3 boy all under 12 in the car. That should of been prosecuted but was not in the 80s. That was just straight child neglect and there is already laws for that.
This is just a law that does nothing but make gun owners have to worry about owning a gun.

I know this sounded kinda anti gun but it wasn't meant to be as I hate this law. Accidents in most cases should not be punished anybody can make a mistake or small slip in judgement with firearms vehicles or anything. Making a law to prevent this is impossible. Often times in a serious mistake the out come is punishment in it self. Sorry just thought I should clarify as I respect this community so much.
