l watched the Guns and Roses reunion concert on video a few yrs ago and it wasn't so great.
While Slash and McKagan still rock, and mad props to Axl for having that kind of energy... the magic is gone.
It's talented guys who are my age singing about heroin use, skanky chicks, and the LA rock scene from the 80s.
It was exciting and raw back then because they were LIVING it in real time. The music has no impact now. It was more of a curiosity. Maybe my expectations were too high.
The crowd seemed to love it.

There are a lot of YouTube videos meant for karaoke that do just that... isolate the vocals out.

I was stationed in CA (29 Palms and Camp Pendleton) in the late 80s and actually saw some of the bands at the clubs. Not GnR, but LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, TSOL, etc. It was an exciting time, although I'm pretty sure Uncle Sam would have frowned on my presence.

That said, l have no desire to do any of that nonsense now... a nice Dwight Yokum or Black Crows show at a casino is more my speed.
Adulting. Geezer-creep. Whatever. I like comfortable shoes now, too.
