Need advice-manual hydraulic log splitter vs gas

Thanks for the advice everyone, based upon the input received here I am not going to waste money buying a manual splitter. It sounds like the better option is to wait until winter when I will be having a tree taken down in my front yard, then rent a power unit for $65 for a day and split it all up at once.
