This reminds me of a connecting flight I caught a few years ago in Oakland - about 2/3 of the passengers were military active duty guys - they were allowed to board the flight with their issued firearms but had to check their knives with their baggage...

Also there was a "chaplain" who was boarding the flight with a nice hard case that appeared rather similar to a factory HK PSG case. I asked him how he liked his "folding cross" and he kinda looked at me funny for a second before he started to grin...
