Well! Good luck to ya!
My grandfather was raised there, born Seattle. He used to tell me all sorts of stories about driving around the strip in some decked out car when he was 13... never told me what he did for work tho. Told me about being in the army at 15 and then being kicked out when they found out he was 16, which I guess there were half a dozen like him. Told him to come back when he was 18, then he went over to Korea to be a fire chief, some fun stories there. Being so poor they had to eat horse meat. I guess this was the 1930's!
He's still going strong and cruizing around.

Yeah, Fresno sounds better than a lot of other cities down there.
GOOD LUCK!
:)

Also, can I have your guns? ;)

I mentioned on another thread recently that the best gun show I ever went to was at the LA county fairgrounds. It was a different time.
In 1990 there was a great group of patriots in Clovis. As someone else implied on this thread Fresno is not West Hollywood. And last time I checked Clovis was not Fresno. There was a great group of patriots out of Clovis. Maybe most of them relocated to TX, ID, MT etc and maybe some of them are still around. You are very close to Santa Lucia wilderness where a friend of mine used to be pack mule guide on week long trips. He's in AZ now. He was born in SLO and got a 410 for his first birthday.
The coast is beautiful and the locals are anxious to tell you to go back to Fresno to which you can reply 'I'll go spend my tourist money somewhere else next vacation and y'all can get laid off of your sandwich makin' jobs due to lack of business' to which they will promptly shut up. The people with money want the tourists.
A brother in law of the mule pack guy who is also a good friend worked for (and still may) Corbett Cyn Winery and the ranch we lived on shared a fence line with them. The ranch is now an extension of the county land fill.
Actually not a horrible place you are moving to. It's a little hot for my taste but so is Yakima.
Godspeed.

As we used to say down in Carlsbad when I was in high school ..."tourists go home but leave your daughters".

I can feel the hate coming down already. Yep. I'm moving to Fresno. Taking a job as engineering manager with a hugigantic winery. 24 million gallons in cooperage. NFA stuff is staying up here so I can visit it sometimes. The rest of the CA legal stuff is coming with.

Seriously bro, Fresno???? I got some friends down there if you want me to hook you up with like minded folk. I HATE that f-king place. Never set foot back Into Cali. GF wants to go to Georgia, I'm not happy about it but it looks better every single day! F-uck Oregon....

I'm a raindrop
I'm a raindrop
I'm a raindrop from the sky.
But I'd rather be a raindrop
Than a drip from oceanslime.

I think Arizona is a beautiful state. It is, however, turning blue. They just elected a democrat senator who was on video calling Arizona "the meth lab of democracy" and was on record supporting Americans who go overseas to fight for ISIS.

Although thanks to influx of former Californians, legal immigrants from all over who could not own firearms and who vote in U.S., Washington has passed .ca type laws, you couldn't make me move to CA with a gun to my head!

Washington will be there in a few years anyway. I dont see much of a difference and demographically I dont see any difference between central Washington and the San Joaquin valley save for the lack of Armenians and Sikh in Washington. Same Mexicans. .

Washington has passed California type anti firearms laws. This was helped by former Californians who live here, and legal immigrants from all over who cou!d never own firearms in their home countries and who live in seattle. Still, I wouldn't move to California with a gun held to my head!

Callifornia is like Washington in some ways. Seattle sucks in all the air in Washington and pushes the rest of the state under its boot heel. Same is true in California with L.A. and San Francisco making the rest of the otherwise somewhat conservative state suffer under its mandate. I wont have any problem getting a concealed license in Fresno county and since my middle son isnt likely to disappear any time soon I am sure I'll get to come visit my toys every now and then. Tax liability is going to be about 2% higher overall in California . Housing is cheaper so that gets offset.

I was born in California to Midwest Dustbowl migrants. My parents families came west for the jobs in CA in the early 50's and my Dad worked in the aerospace industry until the civil unrest and the Watts riots motivated them to move to Oregon. My moms family did not really care for my dads side of the family since moms was all a bunch of Missouri rebels and my dad was from Illinois.

I have been back to CA a lot over they years, mostly when I was long hauling and for some visits. Have not been there much in the last 20 years, we though about taking over the father in laws farm at Smith River back in the 90's , but his family could not agree on terms so we passed.

My opinion of CA is that it is probably the most fuced up state in the US. I wish wired all the best and sometimes you have to go to the money, but CA is a complete waste of space.

I'd take California over any state in the south or especially the Northeast . I'm from there originally and my family has been there since it was a Republic. The gun thing doesnt bother me much. I can still do conjugal visits..

Let's get this straight.
Living in the west side of Oregon or Washington ain't a prize either. I'd rather be around my Spanish folks versus nazi tree huggers.
Fresno ain't hell.
With that said, the south is cool. Live 30 minutes from the Africa bomb site.
