looking for a crossbow

Completely and totally green to crossbows. I know some folks think there's no such thing as a beginners anything but I started out with a 22. I don't know if there is anything similar with crossbows but that's probably where I'd like to start. I don't want some dinky little dart shooter just kinda middle of the road.
