Texas: One man armed with a Colt 1911 .45 pistol, forced 3 National Guard vans to halt, then held eleven unarmed Guardsmen at gunpoint. Police officers from Idalou, Texas eventually arrived to rescue the the hapless Guardsmen.

In Texas, no less. Other parts of the country, National Guard troops get sent to rescue overwhelmed police officers.
