*Show up early. Be the first to come and the last to leave. Ask if they need help setting up or cleaning up.
*Dress appropriately. Military T-Shirts are a must (if prior service). Otherwise no logos or T-Shirts that say or depict anything.
*Do well on the test. Keep doing pushups/situps until they stop counting or the time runs out- not when you hit the max.
*When you're done, help motivate others to do well. Try to stand out as a team player, not an arrogant prick.
*Keep everything you say and do professional...the graders will be looking at you, making notes about you and even be asked from other officers "who do you think stood out?"

Other than that, stretch- eat a full meal tonight and a little bit of something in the morning. Don't brush your teeth in the morning either (the flouride will make you puke). Do about ten pushups, ten situps and jog in place a bit just prior to the test to warm up...situps are usually where people fail in the Physical Test because they treat it like a gym instead of a test...do them FAST. Smack your back off the mat and bounce back up, drop down and do it again...knock them out. Don't burn yourself out in the run in the first leg....save it to the end.

Good luck

It's a Psych Eval..... Does all that advice really apply for a Psych Eval?

In other words, there's nothing you can "do".. save chill.. perhaps some chamomile tea before bed.

The effort of trying to give the answers we think they want has probably DQ'd more candidates than anything else.

Don't overthink the questions, be consistent with yourself. Do not be surprised if they are rude and try to piss you off.

Focus on stuff not to do.. joke. focus upon what you need .. nevermind.. it's like explaining a joke or the Chinese gal in your same position back in my college days. good luck

Wear a tinfoil hat to prevent the CIA from tapping into your brain and making you fail the test. Unless that is what the CIA is hoping for... Either way, they are out to get you.

I've been a practicing psychologist for more than 25 years. I've done thousands of psych evals. The worst thing you can do is try to be someone or something you're not. If you lie, they will know. If you play games, they will know. If you hesitate to answer, they will know that you're hiding something. However, if you answer honestly, they will take note of that as well. I always respect folks who are honest and I always give them the benefit of the doubt.

In seriousness, Riot's advice to do some exercise before your mental eval is solid, so long as you don't sweat too much.

Good Luck.

Why would you want to enter what is becoming one of the most detested careers imaginable in an era of growing mistrust of the government you will represent . . . Better to become a fireman!!
