You paid for what was likely a non-refundable firearm.
If you don't get through the BGC before the deadline, you will (as it currently stands) have to wait until the state works out how to issue permits and training schemes, get the training, get the permit, apply for the BGC again.
Yup. Accurate. Just sold a rifle to a OR guy and had to explain to him "you're most likely not going to get your rifle by the 8th. I won't issue refund. After the 8th it's up to you and your dealer to figure out getting your gun"

Lucky for me the dealer was on board and assured me he would not call me to pick up my gun if it doesn't go through by the 8th. Said he'd hold it for the guy. In reality he should take advantage of the 3 day release option before the 8th but to each is own

I ordered from PSA and from Buds, both in the last week or so, somehow, both my BGC's went though instantly - no idea how the state runs that, so i can't tell you how.

Just to make sure I understand the process correctly, you order from PSA, then they ship to your FFL, and then the background check is performed, right? They aren't able to somehow do the background check when you order are they?

You can order firearms online, they need an FFL address to send them to, they cannot and will not send them to you.

Once your FFL receives them, you go and get a BGC performed by them. They need the firearm in hand to perform the BGC.

No...psa doesn't suck.. Oregon sucks. Psa is just doing everything they can to stay in the confounds of OR law. They gave you guys expedited shipping on mags to make sure you had them before the 8th. Just like they did for washington and CA.

Psa is just covering themselves. They're saying "hey we can't ship anything after the 1st cause we can't guarantee it'll be there before the 8th and we can't ship out 50k firearms ahd then process return shipments and return funds"

I mean cmon. You're blaming a company, that has always been about freedom and fighting for the cause, for your states laws. PSA didn't ask for Oregonians to pass this law. They would love to sell you magazines and guns cause that's how they make money. But they can't because your states liberal agenda won. It's not on them it's on the majority of Oregonians who voted this law in. I wouldn't send guns there either if my bacon was on the line
How many emails did they send out opposing measure 114 before the election? Answer, zero that I saw.

Now they are going above and beyond to cut and run. They suck.

So what happens if you purchase something now and gets shipped to an Oregon FFL and arrives on say, the 6th? I doubt you would get through the Background check by the 8th, so what happens to your money and the gun?
The money is not yours anymore and the FFL if they accept the transfer also accepts responsibility for storing the gun until the law is figured out and you obtain your permit and file a 4473.

They have done all they can do. Countless guns shipped along with magazine deals and prioritized shipments.

Best case you are looking at 3-4 days for shipping from the east coast, same day acceptance by your FFL (next day from my experience), then a 3 day (actually 4th day) release period. If you are ordering online on the 2nd, too late. Sorry.

Annoyingly, nearly 3 million dollars supported that stupid measure and only 5 counties passed it.
Change the laws! I agree it. Shouldn't be that way just to give you a Visual example.

Yeah, that's why I shied away at the last minute from buying anything from PSA yesterday. Unfortunately, not all of us had the money over the last month to run out and purchase multiple guns, so that's why we don't all have full collections. Hoping for an injunction so I can get what I'm after.

That's untrue. But if you want to believe that it's fine.
This sounds like a subjective answer to a potentially subjective comment.

A correct objective statement would have been, many FFLs might not want to, or have the space to store a lot of firearms awaiting FICS.

To you, maybe. It's not relevant, I have never had a gun store say they have too many guns….

I never mentioned a gun store, I mentioned FFL's.
An FFL that I use for BGC's works out of his home office, he has limited storage capacity. Not all FFL's have unlimited storage.

That's not how subjectivity and objectivity work. Unless you have the info from all FFLs, stating they do or do not have the space, then your comment is subjective, you don't know it, it's subjective.
