LASD is Increasing the Number of CCW Permits

Yes, this is for real. Sherriff Villanueva says they are increasing the number of approvals by 400%. You apparently still have to show "good cause", but they are going to refuse a few less of them. Regular, non-connected people who can't prove prove that their life is in "immediate danger" still have zero chance of being approved.

EDIT: The best number I could find for total CCW permits in LA County is from 2014. The total was 560. I can't imagine it's double that by now, so in a county of almost 10 million people, less than 4000 people are going to get an approval. A drop in the bucket, but maybe enough to get him reelected.
