I would assume supply and demand applies to electricity use. If reshoring efforts really do materialize that will likely require huge amounts of electricity. Couple that with data center demand, I would expect electricity cost to dramatically increase for consumers. Doesn't look good for our future electric bills.

Power companies make more money off industrial customers than residential. Its in their interest to reduce electrical use to residential consumers and push more to industrial use. Theres especially more money to be made during off peak hours where turbines and windmills etc are usually just freewheeling.

To me the issue is more about who should get the resources in a given area. If water intensive industries want to open up shop in drought stricken communities with already stretched water supplies, should existent residents pay the price?

The more that power companies rely up the use of solar and wind to augment their power the more that the systems will be stressed. They SHOULD BE encouraging people to utilize solar at their homes when it is feasible. But the batteries are so expensive that ($10,000+) homeowners usually do not buy into them. Instead the power company rates continue to go up and they blame the consumer (as usual).

Telling us that solar/wind are green energy is an out and out lie. Wind tower motors and vanes are buried in the ground bc its too expensive to recycle the hydraulic oil on them, but you never hear that spoken. Solar is not much better especially in hail-prone areas. Yet atomic energy is much more clean than those. Don't hear that either.

These energy intensive call/data centers should be designed and built with their own power supply. A small molten salt reactor could power multiple data centers.

LiTime makes some pretty good LiFePO4 batteries that aren't crazy expensive for what you get. We have a set for the boat trolling motor and they've worked out real well. There are all kinds of different sizes and configurations. They're supposed to be much safer than standard Lithium Ion batteries.
