Shooting begins this September, no release date projected. The movie can't be as good as the book, but will hopefully bring awareness and get people to read the book and start their journey. Author William R. Forstchen will be one of the producers, which bodes well.

I always thought it would make a great book. It's the catalyst that opened my eyes and started me (and later my family) on this journey. I hope they do a better job with it than they did with Atlas Shrugged. That was quite a disappointment.

Agreed! Forstchen having an active role as opposed to simply selling rights is a good sign.

It was one of the first books of the genre I read. I'm hoping that the movie inspires other to prepare. There are a lot of things that can cause this type of scenario and the more eyes that are open the better and in many ways we are closer than ever, and I'm one of those kids that used to have to do the dive under your desk drill before going to the fallout shelter in my grade school.

Still planning to be a marauder.
