I literally was going to say the same thing. Light, decent trigger, cheapish, corrosion resistance, lots of pros. Ive been wanting one to plink with. What about the CVA Scout riffle scope package

I've got one in 45-70 but I put my own 6X scope on it. It's a good gun I use it for wanging steel at 200 yds. What about the CVA Scout riffle scope package
I think a Ruger #1 is on everyone's list. Are you fixated on a bolt action?
I've been lusting for a Henry single-shot .308 to compliment my Henry single-shot 12ga. Damn fine guns.
You're gonna love itThanks guys, I appreciate your thoughts. I just ordered the Savage.
Thank YOU btw for your support to the community. Thanks guys, I appreciate your thoughts.
It should serve you well! I've got an Axis in .308. It's a handy, accurate shooter. Easily shoots moa and isn't picky on ammo. Thanks guys, I appreciate your thoughts. I just now ordered the Savage, it should cover what I'm looking for.
I like the axis II. Very accurate gun. Is the camo called kryptek? Here is what axis 2 with that camo looks like. I think they have a white version of kryptek also.I'm on a tight budget, so I'm looking at three basic .308 Win. bolt guns in the cheap price range. I'm looking at rifle and scope combos. The Ruger American, Savage Axis II and the Mossberg Patriot. All have synthetic stocks and come with scopes mounted. All have adjustable triggers. Two have Vortex 3-9 x 40 and the Savage has a Bushnell 4-12 × 40 on it. Cheapest of the bunch is the Savage.
The Mossberg has a fluted bolt and barrel and a target crown. The Savage stock has some kind of camo that I never heard of. So other than a difference of around a hundred bucks, they're very similar.
I hope some of you guys may have some input on them. Thank you in advance.
The scope on the Ruger that I shot was not bad. It was certainly adequate for 200 yards, which is the OP's criterion.I would get a Savage, but forget the scope. The Combo scopes are bought because they were the lowest bid! Just about anything is clearer and more dependable. DR
I had been looking for a budget 308 for a few years. A Savage FCP-SR appeared on the forum last year so I jumped on it. It was unfired and came with a Primary Arms 4-14x scope. The Savage magazine was atrocious so I replaced it with an Accuracy Intl bottom metal. I'll be heading to the range to test it out shortly.I'm probably going with the Savage, it has a lot of stuff I'm looking for. BTW, I initially also looked at CZ, Tikka, Sako and Remington along the way.
This is a pretty good deal and comes with Weaver scope but no adjustable trigger.I'm on a tight budget, so I'm looking at three basic .308 Win. bolt guns in the cheap price range.
