I load 1895 4570 rifle cast bullets

    I have RL#7 Just got some 350 and 405 bullets I would like 1500 fps +or- 100 fps.I use a 22 inch can you help?

    RL7 was my favorite for hotter 45-70 loads. Get yourself a Lyman's reloading manual. Tons of good info there.

    Are you shooting it in a high wall?

    Oops! I thought it said 1885, not 1895. That's a pretty strong gun, but the reason I asked has to do with the 3 (or 2) different power levels that many manuals have. If you wanted to PM me your e-m ail address, I could scan and send the pages to you.

    if you need my e mail davidb4570@yahoo.com T don,t use gas checks.I use a 1895 Marlin 22 inch barrel.I have used the H&R 45/70 22 inch shot good.The single rifle i would like to have is a Remington rolling.I miss the one I once had

    Hey, I have IMR 4759 I loaded them in my 45/70 in 1992.Used them in single shot,s The shot well.Thanks for the data

    Here's a "for instance." 37.0gr of RE-7 under a 325gr FTX and a CCI350 in my 16" 458SOCOM does 1630fps all day. The Socom runs max pressure of 35,000psi, which, is pretty low, and this load is not even close to that. Confirmed with chrono. :)
