I just bought a steyr m95/24 now what to do with it....

it is chambered in 8x57 mauser .. ... I am thinking of having it rebarreled in 243
now the barrel on it, is chopped up they used a grinder i think to remove the front sight.. for who knows why.. and the rear is gone too... the stock is cut to about 6" in front of the mag well.. and beat to heck.... just wondering what the pro's and cons others can come up with for my franken gun

anyone have any other idea's... i am thinking varmits and light deer/antelope gun for the wife.
for those of you unfamiliar with the steyr m95/24 its a strait pull bolt.. you yank it strait back and slap it strait forward.. the locking lugs rotate , not the bolt.
