This intel just came in from "info at barackobama dot com", supposedly from Michelle: (How many buzzwords can you find?)

I'm writing because Barack needs you out there this summer.

Through the Organizing Fellowship program, you can work in a full-time volunteer position, learn the principles of field organizing, and then carry out important grassroots activities on the ground.

This summer, thousands of these organizing fellows are going to help lead our grassroots organization -- recruiting volunteers and running events to help more people make their voices heard.

It's an amazing experience -- one that could change your life while shaping this country for decades to come.

Apply now to be a summer organizing fellow, or pass this note along to someone you know who might be interested.

If you take a position as a fellow, you'll help more people to step up at the local level, where there are so many opportunities to make so much change. You'll register voters, recruit and train volunteers, run phone banks, have conversations with people on their front porches, and build the relationships that will bring your community together to fight for progress.

There will be difficult days, and long ones, too. But being an organizer is one of the best experiences you can have working in politics.

The people who take on this challenge will not only help move this country forward -- they'll also become the next generation of leaders.

The strength of this organization comes from the people involved. We never could have come this far without folks like you who have a passion for organizing and a commitment to finishing what we started together.

If you're ready to play a critical role in our grassroots campaign, apply now -- or forward this note to someone you know who may be interested:

Thank you,

Michelle

Wonderful that people would get involved...absolutely. Insofar as fewer than 60% of those registered ever bother to vote, it's a great thing.

Personally, I have decided to sell my vote to the highest bidder. I reason that it truly doesn't matter who or what wins anyway, why not make a buck or two? Mittens is slated to raise something on the order of 8 hundred million and Barack around a billion...and what with the supremes saying that anything goes...I figure what the hey, I could stand to share in some of that!

Barack...Mitt, want me to vote for you? The bidding starts at $200.00...

I have 2 thoughts:

1. I just threw up in my mouth.
2. This is good info. and gun rights organizations could well learn from this instead of continuing the "tip of the spear" campaigns that I think have grown old.

I think we should all sign up the go to all the meeting take all the materials help organize everything we can.

Then go home and sit on the couch and drink beer. Nothing like soaking up a nice chunk of their efforts.

So if you had gotten an email from Romney, or Paul, or Santorum, saying the same basic thing - only with more "right wing" wording, what would you have thought?

I get similar emails from both parties, and aside from the exact wording, they all say the same basic thing - come help elect our candidate!

Santorum had a very large grassroots (organized by the campaign, of course, much like this,) organization set up in the states he thought he could win. This is politics, plain and simple.

I think this may be the best post in this thread.

As a new moderator, I'm going to moderator myself here!

9. All political discussion must be directly related to firearms, gun rights, or the second amendment.

There are many different people here with many different viewpoints on various issues. Like religion, discussing these issues here is highly likely to offend and very little good can come of it. We need to be focusing on the things that bring us together (firearms), not the things that have the potential to divide us (politics).

Let's keep it gun related. If not, the thread will close. This includes my comments! ;)
