I am on the fence if I want to SBR one of my AK rifles but am unsure if anyone has had any luck with this since HB1240 has passed. Since its technically "assembling" a rifle, I am not sure how that falls judicially.

After 1240, AR and AK pistols became AWs. It's no less an AW with SBR status. I would imagine it's a win for the ATF… they get your $200 and another gun to seize in the future. But we will see.

Mine was approved in the middle of June. I submitted my F1 eForm application within a few days after HB1240 went into effect

8/5/23 CORRECTION: upon review, I submitted my amnesty eForm1 April 21st, 4 days before HB1240 went into effect (approved June 5).
