Noticed that the definition of "assault weapon" was made more general at 4(a)(3):
(3) the term "semiautomatic assault weapon" means—
(A) a semiautomatic rifle or semiautomatic shotgun that has the capacity to accept a detachable ammunition magazine:
This would classify all those "semiautomatic" rifles that have not been classified as "assault weapons" because of cosmetic features, or lack thereof, would be reclassified. Ruger Mini-14, for example.
