    Wikipedia-Portland:
As of July 2008, it has an estimated population of 575,930

    Wikipedia-Houston:
As of the 2007 U.S. Census estimate, the city has a population of 2.2 million

    News:
    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6347008.html

A “large majority” of 100 federal gun agents being transferred to the border region in the next 45 days will be assigned to monitor purchases at the 1,500 gun stores in the Houston area, a federal official confirmed.

With about 1/4 the population of Houston, Portland should have about 350-375 gun stores.

    I can't find them all.:D

The "gun stores" are probably just number of licensed FFLs, and there are probably 350-375 FFL holders in the portland area.
