This is a multi faceted issue for sure. It is a part of life now as the egg can't or isn't likely to be unscrambled anytime soon.

The sheepdog intolerant culture we live in, has walked all over the rights of parents and fathers in particular.

These shootings in are a natural consequence of the removal of parental authority in the home.
Urban areas where the percentage of fatherless homes are highest, bear this out statistically.

The culture around us, seeks to beat he balls off of boys from their infancy, until the day they die. We have substituted medication for authority, and it isn't working out well for boys or men.

The existence of technology not withstanding, my dad would have beat my A$$ for a stunt like that. The certainty of that, kept me from acting on many of my most foolish impulses.

The young mass shooters, generally have a deep sense of inferiority. It seems counterintuitive, but if these kids that want to shoot the place up, would have really benefited from wrestling, karate, boxing, jujitsu etc...even if it's in the back yard with a few buddies. It helps them to construct social skills and channel aggression in a healthy way. It makes them resilient to bullies, who often seem to be the tipping point for these young men.

Snapchat has been the latest platform for the most epic circus of asshats in human history. The hallmark of teenage boys is taking things too far, their judgement does not fully develop until they are in their mid 20's. They need role models to help them navigate life, so they don't go off and do really stupid stuff that ruins their lives.

Wow, Seattle really is taking gun control to a whole new level. Your kid draws a cartoon with a gun shooting someone, and you have to surrender all of your guns to the authorities?
